Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addictionologist to join our dynamic Intensive Outpatient team. In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical care to individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your expertise will guide patients through recovery journeys, utilizing evidence-based therapies and comprehensive assessments. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives the highest standard of care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and behavioral health screenings, utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavioral therapy techniques. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction medicine, mental health counseling, and trauma recovery such as PTSD care. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records following HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Coordinate with case management teams to facilitate intake processes, discharge planning, and ongoing support services in home and community care settings. Stay current with research developments in behavioral health, applied behavior analysis, and diagnostic evaluation methods to enhance treatment efficacy. Qualifications Licensed or certified as an Addictionologist or equivalent clinical credential in behavioral health or social work. Proven experience in psychotherapy, child & family counseling, crisis intervention, and hospital or community care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and data collection methods. Expertise in addiction counseling, behavioral health treatment modalities, and mental health diagnostics including PTSD care. Skilled in case management, patient assessment, behavior management techniques, and group therapy facilitation. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards. Excellent communication skills with a passion for patient-centered care and continuous learning in behavioral health practices.
