Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in behavioral health practices and a passion for supporting mental health recovery and resilience. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems, to determine mental health needs. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes. Facilitate specialized counseling services including grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; utilize medical terminology effectively in clinical notes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans to support patient care continuity across inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings. Participate in clinical research projects to advance mental health practices and contribute to data collection efforts for ongoing studies. Skills Extensive experience in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychopharmacology. Proficiency in crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols. Strong working knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Skilled in working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards. Experience delivering telehealth services effectively across various platforms. Ability to conduct intake assessments thoroughly while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
