Full Job Description The Role:
Mountain View Elementary School seeks qualified candidates for a School Adjustment Counselor position. Massachusetts School Adjustment Counselor licensure is required.Responsibilities include:
Create a welcoming and supportive environment that embraces diversity among individuals and ensures equitable opportunities for student learning and community membership Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, ETLs and collateral service providers regarding social, emotional and behavioral needs of students in order to coordinate treatment planning and school based interventions Identify and assist students at risk in their social, emotional, behavioral, and academic adjustment to school Provide individual and group counseling services to students Support students with conflict resolution Implement whole class Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and anti-bullying lessons which support students in developing SEL competencies. Support in the development of effective, individualized behavior plans Complete functional behavioral assessments Attend crisis intervention and de-escalation training Provide crisis intervention and support as needed Serve as the liaison and facilitate supports for students returning to school from absences related to mental health or behavior Contribute to the development of IEPs Provide direct services to students as outlined in IEPs and complete progress reports Participate in the ACT (Assisting Children and Teachers) process Assist with class placement Perform other duties as assigned by the building principalSalary:
