Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth & Family Support Specialist to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support, guidance, and resources to promote child welfare, strengthen family relationships, and ensure safety. Your energy and commitment will help empower families to overcome challenges, navigate complex systems, and build healthier, more resilient futures. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children and families in a dynamic, supportive environment. Currently, we are seeking candidates with language capacities in Portuguese and Cape Verdean Creole. Responsibilities Collaborate with families to develop personalized plans that address their unique needs and goals while promoting stability and well-being Conduct assessments related to child protective services, child welfare, and behavioral health to identify risks and strengths within family units Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support during emergency situations or when families face urgent challenges Facilitate communication between families, social service agencies, legal entities, and community resources to ensure coordinated care Support children in various settings by engaging in childcare activities that foster development and emotional security Manage conflict resolution efforts within families or between children and caregivers using effective conflict management techniques Document case progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations Skills Strong understanding of child protective services protocols, child welfare practices, and family law procedures Excellent working knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques Proven experience working with children across diverse environments with sensitivity and patience Skilled in behavioral health assessment, behavioral management strategies, and trauma-informed care Effective conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations and promote positive resolutions Compassionate communicator capable of building trust with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to legal standards and organizational policies Bilingual a Plus!!!
Pay:
$25.00 - $33.00 per hour
