In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling services to individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders and behavioral health challenges. Your expertise will guide clients through recovery journeys, utilizing evidence-based practices to foster lasting change. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other behavioral health techniques. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and behavioral change strategies. Implement crisis intervention protocols to support clients experiencing acute distress or relapse episodes, ensuring safety and stability. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, including case management, family counseling, and community outreach efforts. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records using appropriate medical terminology and ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10). Engage in ongoing research and data collection to enhance treatment effectiveness and contribute to clinical best practices within behavioral health services. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as an addiction counselor is preferred. Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health therapy, or behavioral health settings; home & community care experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with crisis management procedures, PTSD care protocols, and hospital-based treatment environments. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), and HIPAA compliance requirements. Ability to work effectively in team settings while demonstrating strong case management skills for individual and group therapy sessions.
