Counselor/Therapist 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 1200 Academy Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49006 Part-time Kalamazoo College 59 reviews Part-time Kalamazoo College Student Health and Counseling Center provides integrated medical and counseling services to support the holistic well-being of all students. Our collaborative approach promotes physical, mental, and emotional health within a safe, inclusive, and student-centered environment. We offer short-term, goal-directed counseling, group therapy, walk-in crisis services, and outreach programming for enrolled students. Counselors work with a diverse student population on concerns including depression, anxiety, relationships, stress, identity development, trauma, and more. This is a 9-month position of approximately 36 hours per week with 12-month compensation and approximately 12 weeks off annually. Part-time applicants will also be considered. Apply via Indeed In this role, you will: Provide individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to undergraduate students. Deliver walk-in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation support. Develop and implement treatment plans and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation. Collaborate closely with medical and counseling staff as part of an integrated care team. Design and facilitate outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops on mental health, coping strategies, and student development topics. Consult with and provide referrals to community providers and campus stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and families. Partner with campus offices and student organizations to support student well-being. Uphold high standards of confidentiality, ethics, and culturally responsive care. You're a great fit if you have: A Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Licensure or license eligibility in the State of Michigan. At least two years of experience providing psychological services, ideally in a college or university counseling center. Strong skills in group counseling, crisis response, safety planning, and outreach programming. Experience working within or collaborating on an integrated care team. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with diverse student populations, including individuals from varied racial/ethnic backgrounds, international students, and LGBTQ+ communities. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with electronic health records. The ability to build trust and strong relationships across campus and community partners. A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Bilingual/multilingual skills (preferred).
