Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages. The Co-Response Clinician provides mobile, community-based crisis intervention services in collaboration with law enforcement, 911/988 dispatch, and other first responders. The clinician responds to mental health, substance use, post overdose, and co-occurring crises and delivers timely, trauma-informed care aimed at stabilizing individuals in the least restrictive setting.

Saturday and Sunday 4:00pm - 12:30am PART-TIME CO RESPONSE CLINICIAN REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, social work, or guidance and counseling Obtain and maintain licensure/certification issued by the State of Michigan (LARA) Three plus years of experience in behavioral health working with adults with co-occurring disorders and/or children focusing on multi-disciplinary interventions for schizophrenia and other psychotic and serious mood disorders RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond in real time to behavioral health crises alongside or at the request of law enforcement and first responders. Conduct clinical assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis interventions in community settings. Provide de‑escalation, safety planning, and overdose prevention education. Coordinate voluntary follow-up services, referrals, and resource linkages. Collaborate with dispatch, hospitals, and community providers. Document services. Clinical & Crisis Operations Conduct suicide, homicide, and overdose risk assessments and determine appropriate level of care. Support voluntary diversion from arrest, emergency departments, or hospitalization when clinically appropriate. Assist first responders in determining least restrictive, safety focused outcomes. Provide brief clinical interventions grounded in trauma-informed, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practices. Support individuals experiencing psychosis, severe emotional distress, withdrawal, or co-occurring disorders. Collaboration with Law Enforcement & First Responders Serve as a clinical consultant to officers and first responders during active crisis scenes. Support scene safety through behavioral health expertise, de‑escalation strategies, and communication coaching. Participate in joint problem solving with officers to address repeat calls for service or high utilizer individuals. Maintain professional boundaries while working effectively in law enforcement led environments. Follow Up & Care Coordination Provide short-term case management and follow up (often up to 8 weeks post incident). Coordinate warm handoffs to:
Mental health and/or substance use treatment centers MAT/MOUD
providers Primary care, housing resources, and other social services Advocate for clients navigating complex systems. Documentation & Data Responsibilities Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation. Collect and report required program data i.e., crisis type, outcomes, dispositions Comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, and other confidentiality requirements. Participate in quality improvement and outcome tracking efforts. Community Outreach & Systems Support Support municipal and community outreach, helping partners understand when and how to use co-response services. Participate in cross agency meetings, case reviews, and stakeholder discussions. Pay is based upon years of related experience and licensure. Pay:
