Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Provides direct clinical and therapeutic services to the children, adolescents, families, and workers of Bluestone Children's Center. We are hiring for both our Livonia and Riverview Location and is part of a larger team that supports and collaborates with one another and constantly works to inspire an employee culture that reflects Bluestone Children's Center mission of encouragement and involvement.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, OR other related human services field required. Current valid full LPC professional licensure/certification in the State of Michigan At least one year of experience in behavioral counseling with children and/or adolescents. Comfortable working with clients as young as 4 years old and having caregiver involvement. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and executive skill sets. Met Michigan requirements to be a supervising LPC The ideal candidate is a fully licensed LPC with interest and experience in clinical mentorship and supervision Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures. Experience in a start-up environment. (preferred) Credentialed though Blue Cross Blue Shield/Blue Network Panels (preferred)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide individual, group and family treatment to assigned clients with mental health and co- occurring disorders (developmental disabilities and/or mental health) while maintaining a caseload and weekly productivity expectations as determined by supervisor. Provide individual sessions to employees of Bluestone Children's Center as needed. Provide weekly supervision to 1-2 LLPCs to support professional development and licensure requirements Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals. Maintain clinical charts in an accurate and timely manner to include, but not limited to assessments, treatment plans, and all other insurance requirements Actively collaborate with other Bluestone Children's Center departments to ensure clients are receiving appropriate services based on their level of care. Maintain cooperative working relationships with educational, legal, health, social welfare, and mental health systems. Participate in professional development activities, including in-service training, peer review, external workshops, and seminars, etc. Adhere to all Bluestone Children's Center policies and procedures as it relates to documentation, training requirements, insurance guidelines, and confidentiality.
COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES
Comprehensive therapeutic skills including assessment of children and adults, providing clinical services to groups and/or individuals, assisting clients in identifying and utilizing strengths to build treatment plans, and knowledge of developmental stages, and impact of trauma on development. Ability to work flexible hours consistent with program needs (i.e., some evenings work is required). Ability to demonstrate compassion and sensitivity, and to respect the privacy and special needs of our clients. Development and implementation of Individualized Plan of Service Knowledge of theory and practice of individual, group and family systems treatment. Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services, and in brief and time-limited therapy. Self-guided determination
