Job Description

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (1099 Contractor) Helix Health & Housing Services Help Build an Innovative Recovery Model At Helix Health & Housing Services, we're redefining outpatient substance use treatment through an innovative, ASAM 1.0, client-driven model that combines substance use treatment, mental health services, health education, and transitional to permanent housing (GRH) into one coordinated recovery pathway. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all schedule, clients build individualized weekly treatment plans by enrolling in services that match their goals and stage of recovery. As an LADC, you'll help guide that journey through counseling, recovery planning, and collaboration with an integrated care team. Our clients remain engaged because treatment leads somewhere—graduation, greater stability, and a pathway from our transitional housing program to permanent supportive housing. If you're looking for meaningful clinical work in a collaborative environment where relationships matter more than productivity quotas, we'd love to meet you. Why You'll Love Working at Helix Innovative client-driven treatment model Integrated team including therapists, Community Health Workers, peer specialists, mental health case managers, and housing professionals Culturally responsive environment serving Native American communities Agency-wide cultural programming, ceremonies, and community events Technology-assisted documentation tools that reduce paperwork Regular clinical supervision and collaborative team support Opportunity to help shape a growing treatment program What You'll Do Complete comprehensive substance use assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Provide treatment coordination Conduct individual and group substance use counseling Facilitate recovery groups and psycho educational services Use motivational interviewing and evidence-based counseling techniques Assist clients in developing individualized treatment schedules Coordinate care with mental health, housing, and other internal service providers Respond to crisis situations as needed Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation What We're Looking For Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in Minnesota Bachelor's degree Three or more years of treatment experience preferred Casual fill as-needed / on-call position Flexible schedule Weekend availability is appreciated but not required Valid driver's license and proof of insurance Ability to successfully complete a DHS NetStudy 2.0 background study Free from problematic substance use for at least two years Join Our Team This is more than a counseling position. It's an opportunity to help build a treatment program that connects recovery with housing, health, culture, and long-term stability. If you're passionate about relationship-based care and want to be part of an innovative, multidisciplinary team, we encourage you to apply today.
