Job Summary This position exists to provide advanced lead work in areas of providing professional therapy to Incarcerated Persons in a substance use disorder treatment program, crisis intervention, and consultation at Minnesota Correctional Facility- St.
LICENSURE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. Current licensure or eligibility for licensure- by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform chemical dependency treatment under Minnesota Statute 148F.11. (
- NOTE
TO LICENSE-ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

To maintain employment, the successful candidate who is eligible for LADC licensure must possess a temporary ADC permit within 60 calendar days of the first day of employment and a current LADC license within the probationary period.) AND 2. Three years post-licensure experience providing clinical services, including individual and group therapy, to clients with chemical dependency and/or co-occurring chemical dependency and mental health issues; OR a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Behavioral Science or Social Science program and three years of post-Bachelor's degree experience as described above; OR a Master's degree in one of the above degree programs and one year of post-Master's degree experience as described above; OR a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Psychology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills in all aspects of chemical dependency programming.
- Training and experience in providing behavioral health treatment, including individual and group therapy methods and practices.
- Knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical standards; best practices; and community standards of care.
- Skills in verbal and written communication, including proficient documentation skills.
- Interpersonal/human relations skills.
- Basic personal computer skills.
- Ability to provide lead work direction to other chemical dependency treatment program staff.
- Ability to formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; provide chemical dependency treatment; and develop a continuing care plan under limited supervision.
- Ability to teach a psycho-educational course; effectively function within a multidisciplinary team; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries; and temporarily manage daily program operations.
