We are seeking a Counselor to provide onsite mental health counseling services to nursing home and assisted living residents in the Kansas City, MO area. We currently have a part-time position available. The population we serve may have a variety of mental health diagnoses, trauma, grief, and adjustment issues that they need counseling for. Many of our clients are elderly, but we do serve adults of all ages. This is a counseling role in an assisted living or nursing facility. Many of these clients will be in a facility like this for several years and need ongoing emotional support. Several have been placed there by guardians and family. Often, you will run into feelings of abandonment and trust issues. You may not see changes immediately, but over time, these clients will begin to trust and open up. There is no on-call and we work during business hours. No weekends, nights or Holidays ! If you love working with the elderly population in the mental health field, and have an active LPC, LMFT, or LCSW this position is for you!
