Counselor - Men's Long-Term Residential Faith-Based Recovery Program Mercy House Adult & Teen Challenge is a Christ-centered, long-term residential recovery ministry dedicated to helping men overcome addiction and life-controlling issues through the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Our program combines biblical discipleship, counseling, accountability, structure, practical life skills, workforce development, and healthy community to help men experience lasting transformation spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Five Life Truths for Freedom Live Christlike Live with Character Live Purposeful Live Accountable Live in Community Position Overview Mercy House is seeking a compassionate, emotionally healthy, and mission-minded counselor to serve within our men's long-term residential recovery program. This individual will provide counseling, support, accountability, and guidance within a structured, faith-based environment focused on long-term recovery, emotional healing, spiritual growth, and life transformation. The ideal candidate will have experience in counseling, addiction recovery, mentoring, ministry, or behavioral health and must be able to provide counseling from a biblical, Christ-centered perspective. Responsibilities Provide individual counseling sessions for adult men in recovery Facilitate group counseling and educational groups Support residents dealing with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, family dysfunction, and emotional regulation Encourage emotional health, accountability, personal responsibility, and spiritual growth throughout the recovery process Collaborate closely with program leadership and residential staff regarding student progress and treatment recommendations Assist with crisis intervention, referrals, discharge planning, and aftercare support Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and healthy boundaries Operate effectively within a Christ-centered recovery environment Qualifications Licensure is preferred but not required Previous counseling experience, education, schooling, or prior licensure may substitute for current licensure Experience working in addiction recovery, behavioral health, mentoring, ministry, or residential treatment preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work within a structured Christian ministry environment Must be able to provide counseling from a biblical perspective consistent with a faith-based recovery model Passion for helping individuals experience lasting recovery and restoration Schedule & Employment Type Flexible scheduling available Contract or Full-Time Opportunity Some evening availability may be preferred Benefits (Full-Time Position) Competitive compensation Paid time off Supportive team environment Opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of men and families How to Apply Please submit your resume and any relevant credentials or experience to: Treif@mercyhouseatc.com.
