In this role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional training to provide compassionate, peer-led support to individuals navigating mental health, behavioral health, and addiction challenges. Responsibilities Engage with individuals in crisis or distress, offering immediate emotional support and stabilization through crisis intervention techniques. Utilize motivational interviewing skills to encourage clients' motivation for change and recovery. Provide peer mentoring by sharing personal experiences to foster trust, hope, and empowerment. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans that incorporate behavioral health strategies and addiction counseling principles. Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share insights from peer perspectives, and enhance overall treatment effectiveness. Support clients in navigating social services, community resources, and mental health counseling options as needed. Skills Strong understanding of crisis management and crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations effectively. Knowledge of behavioral health issues, mental health counseling practices, and addiction recovery processes. Excellent mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach rooted in lived experience. Proficiency in motivational interviewing to facilitate client engagement and goal setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of client interactions. Effective communication skills to build rapport with diverse populations facing mental health or behavioral challenges.
