IAFT Therapist Hot Job Hybrid
  • Foster Care - Gastonia, NC 28054 Quick Apply Quick Apply Description Job Overview Mental Health Counseling with emphasis on prevention.
Will work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. May help individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health etc. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintain hourly billable caseload of 12 consumers per week.
  • Provide clinical coverage and support for additional NC lines of service including but not limited to: Therapeutic Foster Care, BHUC, Rapid Response, etc.
  • Perform assessments and behavioral screening as assigned and update as required.
  • Clinical oversight of CTS location to which you are assigned.
  • Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
  • Counsel clients and families, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests.
  • Act as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge and update as required.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans as assigned.
  • Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information.
  • Facilitate Child and Family Team Meetings with probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Plan, organize and lead structured programs of counseling, work, study, recreation and social activities for clients.
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.
  • Monitor clients' use of medications.
  • Discuss with individual clients their plans for after leaving therapy. General Requirements
  • Reliable transportation, valid state Driver's License with a clear driving record and proof of insurance.
  • Employment is contingent upon clear fingerprints and criminal history record.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases.
  • Responsible for equipment assigned to perform duties.
  • Maintain the required level of insurance.
  • Ability to provide 24-hour coverage and on-call support when necessary.

Qualifications Education/Qualifications/Experience Licensed Clinical Applicants
  • Maintain licensure requirements with board of applicable counseling.
  • Master's degree in human service field
  • Qualified Mental Professional status required.
  • Experience with Medicaid and other types of clients billings
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of the Agency's mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the diversity of the population served by CTS Health
  • Abide by the MCO's and school districts memorandum of understanding.
  • Demonstrate Cultural Competency and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well with persons from a variety socioeconomic and cultural group.
