eni is seeking an experienced Mental Health Professional to join our on-site Employee Assistance Program in Goldsboro, NC. As a representative of our Benefits and Services Department, the Mental Health professional will serve as the Onsite Mental Health Counselor for our partner organization serving first responder personnel in Goldsboro, NC. This position requires a 20-hour-per-week commitment, Monday through Friday, and is anticipated to begin in July 2026. The schedule offers flexibility within business hours and will be coordinated based on organizational needs and availability. This position serves a first responder population and requires an understanding of the unique occupational stressors associated with emergency response professions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with first responders and be comfortable supporting individuals exposed to critical incidents, repeated trauma exposure, shift work, operational stress, organizational stress, and cumulative stress. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to build trust within first responder cultures and provide practical, strengths-based support that aligns with the needs of this workforce. A strong understanding of occupational stress injuries, burnout, hypervigilance, moral injury, resilience, and the impact of cumulative trauma exposure on first responder wellness and job performance is essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, building credibility and trust with first responder personnel and leadership, and responding effectively to both routine and critical workplace situations. The EAP professional will be responsible for providing psychoeducation and quarterly training to first responders, direct short-term counseling support to the employee population in personal and professional matters, annual well-being check-ins, supervisory referral management, maintaining all required documentation and records, responding to critical incidents as requested, facilitating program outreach, overseeing benefits authorization, and serving as the liaison between the Benefit and Services Operations department and the hospital in matters related to the EAP program. eni has a strong brand promise to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction in the industry and has articulated core corporate values that support this commitment. General Corporate Responsibilities & Job Requirements:
Facilitates psychoeducation and quarterly training to first responders in areas such as stress management, resilience, burnout prevention, occupational stress injuries, cumulative trauma exposure, peer support, wellness, and related topics. Provides virtual and in-person short-term counseling support to the first responder employee population. Assures clients receive timely and appropriate care employing eni's standards for clinical and customer service excellence. Uses evidence-based treatment methods and technology to minimize time to access care and maximize productivity. Utilizes eni's EMR software to maintain client records. Facilitates orientations to introduce EAP services and promote awareness of available resources. Engages with staff and leadership to assess needs, provide guidance on employee concerns, and support workplace wellness initiatives. Responsible for EAP clinical review and authorization of treatment plans for EAP caseload in accordance with program guidelines and established clinical protocols. Supports supervisory Referral process with employees/clients and human resource personnel. Provides Critical Incident Stress Debriefings and crisis support. Facilitates ongoing integration with other vendor partner services ie: Wellness, Concierge, and Occupational Health. Credentials /
Experience:
Independently licensed behavioral health professional (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, Psychologist, or equivalent credential recognized by the State of North Carolina). (At least one licensure required) Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field ( required) . Maintains an active license in good standing with the applicable State Licensing Board (required). Experience providing counseling, crisis intervention, EAP services, or behavioral health support to first responders and public safety personnel (required). Training and Public Speaking experience (required).
Additional Experience Preferred:
Minimum of 5 years work experience providing direct counseling to adults. Experience providing Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, crisis response, or post-incident support services. (strongly preferred). Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to navigate multiple software systems including Microsoft office products.
