NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
: Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) is a designated service for individuals four (4) years or older experiencing a behavioral health crisis related to a substance use disorder, mental health disorder, and/or I/DD diagnosis or any combination of the above. A BHUC is designed to provide triage, crisis risk assessment, evaluation and intervention to individuals whose crisis response needs are deemed to be urgent or emergent. A BHUC is an alternative, but not a replacement, to a community hospital Emergency Department (ED). Individuals receiving this service will be evaluated, then stabilized and/or referred to the most appropriate level of care. The BHUC Navigator is the first contact for individuals served within the BHUC facility. The BHUC Navigator is the initial liaison who completes administrative EHR and consent documentation administrative intake. BHUC Navigator then completes clinical triage to determine clinical pathway through the behavioral health system within IFS and externally. The BHUC Navigator works closely with the on-shift BHUC staff, Open Access Clinic (OAC) staff, psychiatric staff, medical office assistants and more to assist with smooth transition based on current clinical needs.
WORK DUTIES AND TASKS

Job Duties:
Responsible for providing telephone and in-person initial contact with new and existing individuals served Utilize positive customer service at all times Responsible for enrolling in EHR, verifying insurance and completing administrative consent documentation intake paperwork with individuals served Completes initial Behavioral Health Urgent Care triage to determine appropriate clinical pathway for treatment Consults with licensed clinician for additional clinical recommendations (when appropriate) Responsible for ensuring the overall safety of the client, their families and the community. Responsible for networking with other community agencies to ensure effective care across the service delivery continuum. Maintains the individual served file to ensure that appropriate Medicaid and agency standards are met. Completes all administrative requirements including service documentation in a timely and efficient manner. Adheres to all clinical policies and operating procedures. Ensures compliance with uniform documentation and charting guidelines. Sign all treatment record notes as required. Attends and/or completes all training as required. Attend all meetings and events as required. Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 11:00AM to 8:00PM with some after hours and weekends required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: Qualified Professional Required An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; and, A graduate of a college or university with a Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling. A minimum of one year's experience in providing crisis management services Preferred experience in these settings: Behavioral Health Urgent Care, Facility Based Crisis, Behavioral Health Emergency Room, Behavioral Health inpatient hospitals, Detox facilities. Must have knowledge and training in dual diagnosis (MH, SU and IDD). Must have knowledge in functional limitations and health problems that may occur in clients with Serious Emotional Destress (SED), dual diagnosis, or clients with other disabilities, as well as strategies to reduce limitations and/or health problems. Basic Microsoft Office suite experience and skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams platforms. Ability to work with and adjust to different and diverse beliefs, cultural tendencies, family structures and orientations. No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes. Must be able to pass a criminal background, sex offender check, motor vehicle check and health care personnel registry check upon hire and annually. Must possess a valid driver's license.
