We are looking for a passionate and dedicated School-Based Counselor to join our team. Position Overview:

As a School-Based Counselor, you will work directly within the Carteret County school district to provide high-quality mental health services to students. Your role will involve individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with school staff and parents to create a supportive learning environment. You will be an integral part of our mission to ensure that students have the emotional and behavioral support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing mental health and behavioral issues. Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Collaborate with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to support student well-being. Offer crisis intervention services as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counseling sessions. Provide referrals to external services and resources when necessary. Participate in school meetings and contribute to developing strategies for student success. Educate and support parents and guardians on managing and understanding their child's mental health needs.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of North Carolina. Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or similar setting. Strong understanding of developmental, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting school-aged children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice.
