Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Counselor to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral services team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive counseling and support to individuals across diverse age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, empathetic approach to therapy, utilizing evidence-based techniques to foster positive change. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to enhance client engagement and motivation for change Deliver crisis intervention and crisis management services to de-escalate urgent situations effectively Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating medical terminology, medical records review, and HIPAA-compliant documentation Coordinate case management activities including patient care planning, progress tracking, and medical documentation updates Facilitate specialized counseling for populations such as individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD, grief, addiction issues, chronic pain management, gender issues, geriatrics, pediatrics, and special education needs Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards and ICD coding requirements Requirements Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure or certification preferred but not mandatory for internship roles Proven experience in mental health counseling or clinical social work with familiarity in behavioral health settings Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and addiction counseling Ability to perform intake assessments accurately and conduct diagnostic evaluations using
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations compassionately and effectively Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team Telehealth experience is preferred; must be adaptable to both in-person and virtual service delivery models Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate mental health care that transforms lives!
