Join our multi-disciplinary service delivery team to provide community based, integrated rehabilitative services to individuals with serious persistent mental illness. PACT provides comprehensive, integrated rehabilitation, treatment and support services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, who have had repeated hospitalizations and are at serious risk for psychiatric hospitalization.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 830a-5p with 30 minute unpaid lunch; weekends as needed
Pay:
$50,000-$55,000/year.
Responsibilities:
A fully integrated member of the PACT team who provides clinical assessment, service planning, wellness counseling, case management and associated documentation as required to meet client needs. The Co-Occurring Specialist shall provide highly individualized services for persons served offered in individual and group modalities. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create and Maintain :
A wellness and recovery oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation, and person centered planning. All services provided will promote a wellness and recovery outcome.
Participates:
As a team member in the frequent monitoring and assessment of the mental health status of people served as well as related variables, including significant others, the home and the community in which the person served lives Within the team, in the development of substance abuse assessment, comprehensive assessment and a service plan, often focusing on substance abuse treatment needs of the person receiving services
Provides:
Mental health education, community living skill training and supportive counseling in the home and other natural environments to persons served and significant others, with special focus on substance abuse education and intervention needs of the person served Crisis intervention services for persons served with acute psychiatric needs whose circumstances and conditions require rapid intervention. Stages wise treatment is provided utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques. 24 hour on-call coverage on a rotating schedule Outreach to newly enrolled individuals and encourages those reluctant to accept mental health services through interventions with them and/or family members and friends concerned with the their welfare Technical assistance and education to members of the team in the area of co-occurring disorders. Develops co-occurring disorders materials and strategies for individual and group interventions, in conjunction with the team Training and supervision in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques and skills In-vivo training and supervision to PACT staff Orientation to new staff on PACT services and recovery-based interventions
Consults:
With other service providers and resource people regarding the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation needs of the persons served
E-mail:
Creates, receives and responds to all e-mail correspondence in a prompt and professional manner. Emails must be read once per work day/shift Decision making: On a regular and continuous basis, exercises sound judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences and results having an impact on people, costs and/or quality of service within the functional area

Philosophy Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field plus two years post- Degree experience providing dual disorder services to individuals with co-occurring serious and persistent mental illness and substance abuse; The Co-Occurring Specialist shall hold the professional credentials required by the NJ Alcohol and Drug Licensing and Certification Counseling Committee (i.e.
CADC/LCADC
