Position Overview:
In collaboration with the CIS Director, the Wellness Clinician-Licensed, and the Senior Wellness Clinician, the LSW or LAC ensures that clinical interventions are effective, trauma informed, stage-based and tied directly to the goal and discharge plans of the individual receiving services. As part of a multidisciplinary, core services team, the Wellness Clinician-Licensed provides assessment and direct clinical services to people who are experiencing a mental health crisis or a worsening of a pre-existing mental health disorder or a co-occurring disorder who are enrolled in the CIS Program.
Essential Job FunctionsCreate and Maintain:
A wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using person-first language, respectful documentation, and person-centered planning. All services provided will promote a wellness and recovery outcome, helping to stabilize an individual so they may remain in the community, and divert from having to go to the Emergency Room.

A culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws and high ethical standards
Provides:
Under the clinical supervision of Senior Wellness Clinician conducts intake assessment, DSM-V diagnosis, goal planning, brief treatment, crisis stabilization, linkage, and discharge planning services for individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders, inclusive of substance abuse and medical disorders. As part of this, a Risk Assessment is conducted with each individual to assess suicidal and/or homicidal ideation with clinically indicated follow up if needed.

Under the clinical supervision of Senior Wellness Clinician provides mental health and substance abuse treatment and education on-site to persons served and significant others, of ten focusing on evidence-based, trauma informed brief treatment.

Under the clinical supervision of Senior Wellness Clinician provides crisis intervention services for persons served with acute psychiatric needs whose circumstances and conditions require rapid intervention. Interventions are varied, and include but are not limited to the following: Motivational Interviewing; Cognitive Behavioral Treatment; Crisis Stabilization and De-Escalation; Trauma Informed Care; Self-Regulation; Psychoeducation; and other interventions that may be clinically indicated.

Under the clinical supervision of Senior Wellness Clinician provides brief therapy and evidence-based interventions in individual or group sessions in the office.

Facilitates Involvement of family members at person served request to provide psychoeducation and supportTechnical assistance and education to members of the team in reference to best clinical practices. Utilized best practices materials and strategies for individual and group intervention in conjunction with the teamCollaboration with Wellness Specialists to recommend needed case management services along with referrals and linkages to after care services. Work collaboratively with APNs and Psychiatrist in providing Medication Education to persons served.24-hour on-call coverage on a rotating schedule among other Licensed Clinicians along with Senior Wellness Clinician and Director. Clinicians on-call will determine acuity of the individuals situation, and will contact the police or Mobile Crisis as indicated. If the individual is stable, the clinician will provide information about CIS Hours of Operation and encourage the individual to come in to receive services during those hours.

Under the clinical supervision of Senior Wellness Clinician provides Crisis Intervention, Engagement, Needs and Strengths Comprehensive Assessment to include diagnosing, Collaborative Goal/Discharge Planning, Brief Therapy, Individual and Family Psycho-education, collaborative documentation, and Trauma Informed Care.
Coordinates:
Intake, assessment, Goal, and Discharge planning to include the CIS staff. This is achieved through regular multi-disciplinary communication between all team members, inclusive of other Licensed Clinicians, Wellness Specialists, APNs, Psychiatrist, scheduling & Insurance Verification Specialist and Receptionist, and Program Director.
Responsible:
For maintaining positive relationships with community service personnelFor ensuring that intake processes are readily accessible and flexible and that all individuals who either walk in or are referred are seen and assessed within 24 hours by a Licensed Clinician.

For ensuring that clinical interventions are evidence based and lead to goal attainment within the framework of the BCIS programs 30-day period for persons receiving services.
Participates:
Within the team, in the development of comprehensive assessment and the Goal and Discharge Plan, focusing on clinical needs of the person receiving services.

In team Meetings, held on a weekly basis, where persons served are reviewed as needed and other clinical and operational matters are discussed.

Participates in required weekly Individual Clinical Supervision with Senior Wellness Clinician.
Consults:
Community service providers and resource providers regarding the assessment, treatment and aftercare needs of the persons served.
RequirementsEducation/Certifications:
Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
LPC, LAC
required, CADC preferred, bi-lingual Spanish speaking required
Experience:
1 year paid progressive work experience with people who have mental health issues, preferably in an Outpatient or Community Mental Health Setting; new graduates will be considered
Drivers License, Vehicle:
Valid drivers license requiredNo more than one moving violation within the past 12 monthsVehicle required
