In this vital role, you will provide expert counseling and support to individuals struggling with addiction, mental health challenges, and co-occurring disorders. Your expertise will help clients navigate their recovery journeys, develop coping strategies, and achieve lasting wellness. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate substance use, mental health status, and behavioral patterns using established diagnostic tools and medical terminology. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and trauma resolution. Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress. Document all patient interactions accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain detailed medical records using appropriate CPT coding and ICD-10 classifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical staff, and case managers—to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient care delivery. Engage in ongoing research activities related to addiction medicine, behavioral health trends, and treatment efficacy to enhance clinical practice. Skills Familiarity with TheKIPU EHR
System Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and group therapy techniques. Proficiency in motivational interviewing to foster client engagement and facilitate behavior change. Experience in child & family counseling, home & community care environments, hospital settings, and PTSD care is highly desirable. Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management strategies to support clients during critical moments. Familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations for mental health disorders and substance use issues using evidence-based assessments. Competence in case management practices—coordinating services across behavioral health, social work, addiction counseling, and medical disciplines—to optimize patient outcomes.
