Job Description

Middle School Mental Health Practitioner 1 (.5 FTE) Part-time position; 100% dedicated Minimum Qualifications include: LSW, LAC, LPC, or MSW. Or MS, or MA in a related field (e.g., counseling, psychology, etc.); and experience working with youth and families. Or A BSW is permissible ONLY when the Director is LCSW. Mental health service providers that do not have a LCSW or doctorate degree in Psychology must be clinically supervised by someone who does. Clinical supervision may be provided by the Managing Agency, a contracted agency, through a consultant agreement, or by other licensed staff.
Responsibilities include:
Short-term mental health counseling to address, prevent and educate students and families about contemporary issues that impede social, emotional, academic or physical development.
NJ SBYSP
does not administer psychological assessments. Short- term mental health counseling to include, but not limited to: Addressing issues early to prevent long-term problems, improve academic performance and personal relationships Crisis, situational adjustment, bullying, anger management, bereavement, depression, suicide prevention and violence prevention counseling The following best practice approaches: a. Services identify and build on strengths of the student, and as applicable, the family b. Services support students in their development of skills to manage situational change c. Services that help students improve their daily functioning at school, home, work, and in the community Each SBYSP program must have at least one part-time Licensed Clinician whose licensure enables them to supervise other clinicians who do not possess independent licensure. Supervision could be by someone not employed by the SBYSP.

From $30,000.00 per year
