Substance Use Disorder Counselor Department:

Director of Behavioral Health SUMMARY:
Participates as a member of the clinical leadership of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, assessing clients' social interactions and environmental engagement following established guidelines. Conduct individual and group sessions. Develop and apply strategies to promote patient welfare. Record assessments, strategies, and patient interactions promptly and in compliance with standard policies. Enter assessments in NJSAM and secure assessment of clinical authorizations in NJSAMS. Act as a key team member in the Unit's leadership, fostering a therapeutic environment. Collaborating with clients to develop a written treatment plan that includes goals and measurable objectives, and is client centered and recovery oriented. Provide substance use counseling services specified in the client treatment plan. Develop a client's discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care. Comply with and stay informed about corporate standards, codes of conduct, conflict of interest policies, and modifications in federal and state laws and regulations. Work with psychiatrist to schedule appointments in EMR system. Discuss history of illicit drugs with psychiatrist for individuals who are interested in LTBI program. Educate client on Buprenorphine and Vivitrol. Responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance of Charts. Input information in EMR system. Input and monitor information in SPARS. Attend monthly meetings with the PMO. Undertake additional duties as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EXPERIENCE
Education:
A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, human services, or related field.
Licensure:
A certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC).
Experience:
2 years in the field of substance use.
Strong Clinical Skills:
Strong clinical skills and the field of substance use.
