REPORTS TO
Clinical Supervisor
FLSA DESIGNATION
Full-time, Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the agency's Clinical Supervisor, the Primary Therapist is responsible for providing individual therapy, group therapy daily and intake assessments. The Primary Therapist also maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: 1. Provides individual therapy. 2. Lead Group Therapy sessions on a daily basis, 3. Provide intake assessments to patients on a daily basis. 4. Develop a treatment plan for each patient, updating the plan as objectives/goals are achieved and/or within the agency specified timeline. 5. Assist with the intake of new clients when necessary. 6. Understands how to document interactions with clients in the EHR. 7. Coordinate care with other members of each client's treatment team. 8. Work with the Case Management team (CCSS) to identify outside resources for each client, and to work with the treatment team and the client to develop a discharge plan. 9. Document clinical updates as requested for UR. 10. Complete all documentation within the agency specified timelines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • LMSW, LMHC, LADAC, CADC, LSAA, and master's level psych associates.
  • IDDT model training (can be arranged)
  • ASAM training (can be arranged)
  • CCSS training (can be arranged)
  • Previous experience in behavioral health.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED 1.
Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, excel, and email. 2. Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with substance abuse clients. 3. Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans. 4. Understanding of what to do in the event of a crisis of emergency. 5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion. 6. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts. 7. Ability to plan and organize case workload, manage deadlines of him/herself. 8. Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information. 9. Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights. 10. Recognition of the limits of one's own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed. 11. Makes clinical and organizational decisions with the clients' and agency well-being and best interests in mind. 12. Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality , strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency. 13. Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide. 14. Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse. 15. Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications. 16. Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency. 17. Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency: and 18. Has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training including the ability to pass background checks.
