Job Description

A non-profit victim services agency is seeking a qualified and compassionate MSW Social Worker to join our team. This individual/group counselor will provide trauma-informed counseling to survivors of domestic violence in both residential and non-residential settings. This role is ideal for a clinician committed to supporting survivor healing and empowerment through culturally responsive and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to adult and child survivors of domestic violence. Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine client needs and appropriate interventions. Deliver crisis intervention services as needed. Coordinate with external providers to facilitate mental health evaluations, psychiatric referrals, and medication management. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and funder requirements. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure holistic care. Provide referrals and collaborate with internal and external service providers to support client safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required. Valid LMSW licensure in New York State is required. Prior experience working with survivors of domestic violence and knowledge of trauma, PTSD, and related mental health concerns. Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused interventions. SIFI certification preferred. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Work Environment:
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Suffolk County, with occasional evening and/or weekend hours required to meet client needs.
