Job Description

Student Psychological Counselor (HEA) -Counseling Center
POSITION DETAILS
The Student Psychological Counselor/Associate Director serves as a senior member of the Center's professional staff, functioning primarily as a provider of direct clinical services while assisting the Director with clinical and administrative oversight, strategic planning, professional development, and outreach initiatives. This position reports directly to the Director. Evening hours are required. Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing individual and group psychological counseling services. Conducting intake assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning. Managing crisis intervention and risk assessment cases. Coordinating care, referrals, advocacy, and follow-up services. Developing and implementing outreach and engagement initiatives. Delivering presentations and workshops. Providing consultation to faculty, staff, and campus partners. Assisting with clinical supervision, staff evaluation, and utilization review processes. Supporting program planning, assessment, evaluation, strategic initiatives, and reporting. Assisting with grant writing and efforts related to funding diversification. Assuming the responsibilities of the Director in their absence. Performing additional related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience :
A minimum of 6 years of clinical experience in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling. A minimum of three years of experience providing clinical supervision. Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and expertise. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and computer skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previous experience in a college or university counseling center desirable.
Education:
A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or a Doctoral degree in Psychology to include Ph.D. and Psy.

D. programs is required.
Licensure:
An active, unrestricted New York State license as a mental health practitioner (LCSW, LMHC Ph.D., Psy. D.)

Provides psychological counseling to individuals and groups of students Performs crisis intervention for emergency situations Performs intake and assessment for personal counseling services Consults with instructional and administrative staff regarding student mental health issues; may prepare and present outreach initiatives and workshops Participates in recommending improvements that will impact the counseling center's effectiveness Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience, $77,173-$98,995.
