A bachelor's degree in a human services field or someone working toward a master's degree in counseling or social work is preferred. Applicants with CDCAs, LCDC licensure are welcome to apply. Prior experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups is preferred, especially anger management groups. Summit Psychological Associates runs 26-week Conflict Solutions Groups with various times available during the day and in the evening. The group leader has a manual for the group and the leader would provide psychoeducation on topics such as power and control, anger management, communication and healthy relationships, substance use and its impact on relationships, etc. The group leader would also facilitate discussion of the group topics to assist clients in understanding the topics and incorporating the concepts into their daily lives. Groups have a maximum of 12 group members and separate groups are run for male domestic violence perpetrators and for female perpetrators with specialized manuals for the female groups. Group members complete homework for each group session. The staff member would complete brief group notes for each group member, indicating the topic of the group and the group member's participation and progress with the group topics. The group leader would be provided with training in running the Conflict Solutions groups with both written instructions and live demonstration of how to facilitate the group. A clinical staff member would supervise the group leader and would serve as a resource for any questions or support the group leader needed. The group leader would communicate with the courts on client progress and would assist Summit Psychological Associates in gathering outcome data on the group programming.
