Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide expert addiction counseling, clinical assessments, and therapeutic interventions to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Your expertise will help clients achieve lasting recovery through evidence-based practices, personalized treatment plans, and compassionate support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those seeking help for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop tailored treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy. Deliver crisis intervention services to stabilize clients experiencing acute mental health or substance use crises. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, social workers, and community agencies to ensure holistic patient care. Maintain accurate and HIPAA-compliant medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Facilitate patient education on addiction medicine, relapse prevention, and coping strategies to empower clients in their recovery journey. Engage in ongoing research and data collection related to treatment outcomes, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and behavioral health best practices. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy, addiction counseling, and clinical counseling within behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and child & family counseling approaches. Ability to manage crises effectively through crisis management skills and crisis intervention protocols. Familiarity with hospital settings, home & community care environments, PTSD care, and behavioral health programs. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Expertise in patient assessment tools, diagnostic evaluation methods, case management strategies, and group therapy facilitation. Competence in applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and data collection for treatment tracking.
