Substance Abuse Counselor /
Case Manager Location:

Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor / Case Manager to provide counseling, case management, and recovery support services within a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with inmates to support rehabilitation, recovery planning, and successful program participation through individualized treatment approaches. Key Responsibilities Provide alcohol and drug counseling services to inmates on assigned caseloads Complete intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning documentation Coordinate care with medical, mental health, education, recreation, volunteer, and community service providers Monitor inmate attendance, participation, and progress in substance abuse treatment programs Review case files and assist with treatment planning and program admission decisions Provide crisis intervention and continuing care planning as needed Communicate with Adult Parole Authority (APA) and chemical dependency specialists regarding inmate treatment activities Conduct and coordinate substance abuse recovery programming, including services for substance-abusing and mentally ill inmates Facilitate support groups and fellowship meetings for recovery services Monitor and support volunteers involved in recovery and rehabilitation programs Participate in quality assurance activities, peer reviews, and clinical record reviews Attend trainings, seminars, and conferences to maintain professional development Maintain professionalism and compliance with organizational standards, policies, and ethical guidelines Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred Experience in substance abuse counseling, case management, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare preferred Strong communication, documentation, and crisis intervention skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment Knowledge of addiction recovery principles, treatment planning, and behavioral health practices State licensure/certification in chemical dependency or counseling is preferred Benefits Competitive pay Professional development opportunities Supportive team environment Meaningful work making a positive impact on rehabilitation and recovery Apply today to join a team dedicated to supporting recovery, rehabilitation, and positive outcomes. #
