Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies. Provide specialized counseling for issues including addiction, grief, PTSD care, gender issues, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and pediatrics. Maintain detailed medical documentation and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring accurate medical terminology and coding (CPT coding). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management plans to support patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to mental health services and conduct remote therapy sessions. Experience Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient environments, with a focus on behavioral health or mental health counseling. Strong background working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and diverse populations such as geriatrics. Familiarity with crisis management techniques and crisis intervention procedures in high-pressure situations. Hands-on experience with medical records management, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards. Knowledge of social work principles combined with expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic modalities like motivational interviewing and psychodynamic therapy. Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms is highly desirable. Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations using DSM criteria while applying research-based practices for treatment planning. Strong communication skills for intake procedures, patient assessment, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
