JOB SUMMARY
The Therapist is a principal member of the Clinical Team, who provides specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic assessments, and treatment planning to individuals ranging in age from twelve to eighteen. The Therapist reports directly to the
CEO. THEAPIST DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with each client. Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed.
  • Available for clinical consultation
  • Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned professionals, parents or outside agency professionals assigned to case.
  • Provide CPST and case management functions, if needed
  • Assume a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge
  • Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients
  • Complete all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames
  • Provides education and resources for patients and family members
  • Participates in continuing professional education, departmental meetings and teaching
  • Actively participated in supervision and/or clinical team meeting in individual and/or group setting
  • Must maintain agreed upon documented productivity hours per week
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of a dolescent development, trauma-informed care, basic diagnoses Skilled in a ssessments, documentation, treatment planning, and basic counseling

  • Skilled in rapport building, group facilitation, and clear communication
  • Ability to engage residents and maintain professional interactions Behavior Management & Trauma-Informed Care

  • Ability to r emain calm and consistent Crisis Intervention & Safety
  • Knowledge in c risis protocols and risk indicators Advocacy & Coordination
  • Knowledge in c ommunity resources and case planning
  • Skilled in c are coordination, discharge support
  • Ability to a dvocate for resident needs and continuity of care Documentation & Productivity
  • Knowledge in d ocumentation standards
  • Skilled in t imely and accurate documentation; good time management
  • Knowledge and experience with Evidence Based Practice methods of treatment Teamwork
  • Skilled in Team communication and applying feedback

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Minimum educational level is a Bachelor's degree in Social work with an Ohio LSW, a Master's degree and LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and Insurance
  • Must be able to be CPR/First Aid certified within 6 months of hire
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base is essential
  • Knowledge and experience with Evidence Based Practice methods of treatment
COMPLEXITY OF WORK
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Works flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone
  • Computer literacy skills, including Google docs, Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage, as well as basic typing
