Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Therapist, MA, ATR, LPC to join our dynamic mental health and wellness team. In this role, you will utilize art-based therapeutic techniques to support individuals across diverse populations, including children, adults, and those with developmental disabilities or autism. Your expertise will foster emotional expression, healing, and resilience through creative visual art therapy. Our Art Therapists are responsible for planning, organizing, and providing art therapy that creates a safe environment, addresses the holistic needs of those we serve, and offers a means of expression for those persons that positively impacts their health status, feeling of wellness, and/or quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in outpatient settings, hospice care, and specialized programs focused on behavioral health and dementia care.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct art therapy sessions with individuals, groups, or families.
  • Assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Assess and evaluate clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes in the EMR system.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment for diverse populations.
  • Conduct intakes for newly referred clients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain knowledge of best practices in art therapy.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Ability to transport self to and from office, various sites, and community service sites.
  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Verification of current auto liability insurance to the limits required by the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Absence of past criminal activity, which would bring into question professional and personal integrity as it implies to the position responsibilities. Ability to pass a BCI and FBI background check.
  • Flexibility in adjusting work schedule, days and hours as necessary to fulfill meeting schedule obligations and other responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to adhere to The HELMS Foundation policies and procedures as they relate to employee work activities.

Pay:
$48,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
