POSITION SUMMARY
The Licensed Counselor's primary role is to counsel clients and provide support counseling services to the Scraper Counseling Center. The counselor will work in close partnership with the Director of Counseling in the training services offered by the program, as well as mental health prevention, awareness, and education through the Scraper Counseling Center. They will also provide some on-site supervision, consultation, and observation duties for interns. This is a grant funded position through June 2027. Institutional funding will be reviewed at this time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains a caseload of 20-25 clients weekly. Maintains clinical case notes in a timely manner. Attends weekly staff meetings, trainings, workshops, and promotional events. Provides workshops, trainings, and professional development to interns and the greater counseling community. Meets with the Director of Counseling weekly to provide excellent services at the Scraper Center. Attends Student Affairs and other campus meetings to meet the needs of clients. Advocates for the needs of their clients at Care Team Meetings. Participates in psychoeducational and outreach programs provided by the clinic.
For example:
groups, intern training and professional development, and campus-wide mental health awareness and prevention initiatives. Serves as a resource, and at times a consultant, for parents, students, faculty, and staff related to psychological and counseling-related concerns or issues. Serves as a backup to the Director of Counseling in emergency/crisis mental health situations. This includes being available as a backup in person or via cell phone to the Student Affairs staff related to consultation when the Director is unavailable Maintains Scraper Center as a CEU provider through all appropriate licensure boards. Attends training and other professional development sessions and stays up to date on local, state, and profession- specific ethics and laws related to the duty to protect, privacy, documentation, maintenance of records, and the promotion of health, wellness, and access for all Provides guidance and supervision to interns Meets all requirements to maintain counseling licensure
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in counseling from a regionally accredited institution (required). Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for at least two years (required). At least 5 years experience in counseling through an agency, private practice, school, or clinic preferred. Holds Supervisor status within licensure strongly preferred. Maintain counseling licensure with the State of Oklahoma, including obtaining 20 continuing education credits annually. Experience working with diverse populations, both traditional students and non-traditional students. Experience with counseling in a college or school setting is preferred.
