Job Description

Family Support Specialist, Youth & Family Services Over the last 68 years, SVdP has grown from a volunteer-led non-profit to the largest human services agency in Lane County with more than 600 employees. Our mission is to assist the poor and those in need of consolation, seeking out and utilizing every resource. Being mindful of the sanctity and dignity of all, any charitable work that advances those goals is within the mission of SVdP Lane County.
SCHEDULE
Wednesday-Sunday, 3:30 PM - 12:00
AM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warmly welcome and assist families entering First Place Family Center. Provide needed support to families as they work towards stability. This may include, but is not limited to, helping to connect families with partner agencies that may be of service, assisting families in identifying and overcoming barriers to permanent housing, modeling gentle parenting techniques, and aiding families in conflict resolution. Data entry answering the phone, taking messages, filing, and multi-tasking in a high energy, busy environment. Enter accurate information in a timely manner into Lane County's HMIS database. Assist families in completing other required forms and documents. Effectively communicate and enforce program rules utilizing a trauma informed approach. Ability to work in a team environment Take on special projects as needed Provide support in the kitchen area when needed All aspects of custodial duties throughout the shelter This list is not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Must have the capacity to stay flexible under stress and maintain composure while multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Must have at least a basic knowledge of computer technology (email, Word). Must have a warm, welcoming presence combined with good boundaries. Must have a nonjudgmental approach to a wide range of individuals and lifestyles. Ability to lift up to 35-50 lbs. Ability to stand for 8 hours shift.
