The Counselor role is a vital clinical position within our withdrawal management and crisis stabilization environment, delivering trauma-informed, person-centered care across a dynamic continuum of services. This role supports individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges through assessment, brief therapeutic intervention, crisis response, and care coordination, helping ensure safe stabilization and connection to ongoing care. Counselors work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team in a fast-paced setting that includes crisis residential, detox, and walk-in services, embracing a no wrong door approach to behavioral health care. What You BringMasters degree in social work, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation or a related fieldActive Clinical Licensure (or license eligible) or certification strongly preferred:

LPC, LCSW, LMFTCAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCSMinimum two years of direct mental health experience and/or experience providing psychotherapyPreferred experience in substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention or behavioral health settingsKnowledge of the PA Mental Health Procedures Act and crisis commitment processesFamiliarity with co-occurring disordersValid drivers licenseAbility to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without accommodation Your RoleProvide individual, group, and family counseling services using trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches Complete screenings, intakes, biopsychosocial and risk assessments, and determine appropriate level of care Deliver crisis intervention, de-escalation, and brief stabilization-focused therapy in a high-acuity environment Develop and update individualized treatment and safety plans based on client needs and medical necessity Support clients through withdrawal management, crisis stabilization, and early recovery Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in all required systems Coordinate care with internal teams and community providers to ensure continuity and safe transitions Provide case management and discharge planning, including referrals to appropriate levels of care Contribute to a safe therapeutic environment and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development, maintaining required credentialsAbout Lenape Valley FoundationSince 1958, Lenape Valley Foundation (LVF) has been a trusted non-profit provider of essential human services in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
