UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is looking for a passionate Crisis Clinician II to join our team at Crisis Services! Serving as Erie County's 24/7 crisis hotline operator as well as community crisis responder since 1993, Crisis Services offers phone, mobile and walk-in services to individuals of all ages. In addition to providing comprehensive crisis interventions, Crisis Services is also a part of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Under the direction of the Crisis Program Director, as a Crisis Clinician II, you will provide clinical services to individuals experiencing a self-identified crisis. Your primary responsibilities include answering phones, obtaining clinical information, responding to crisis situations in the community, and documenting all related activities. In addition, you will serve as a leader within the department as a shift supervisor. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations and review documentation to ensure quality assurance standards are met.

Night Shift- 11p-9a, 4-day work week. Some holidays and weekends required.

Responsibilities:
Conduct crisis assessments, provide counseling, and manage acute situations across community/office settings Deliver follow-up support (phone/mobile), develop crisis plans, and coordinate appropriate referrals Utilize motivational interviewing and other techniques to promote stability and positive outcomes Maintain documentation standards, complete paperwork, and track follow-up services for quality care Navigate insurance processes and secure authorizations as needed Lead team operations, support staff onboarding, and collaborate in interdisciplinary activities Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work WITH two years mental health direct care experience WITH one year crisis experience OR Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work WITH two years clinical experience. Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience Work history that includes phone triage, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments. Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred. Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations
