Havertown, PA Schedule:
Approximately 11-14 hours per week. Evening hours from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, 2 evenings per week (based on program needs and candidate availability), and Saturday and/or Sunday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. About Us High Focus Centers has a longstanding history of providing high-quality outpatient treatment throughout Pennsylvania through our subsidiary programs: Rehab After Work, The Light Program, and Seeds of Hope. Our individualized, comprehensive treatment plans make us a vital resource for adults and adolescents experiencing mental health, substance use, and/or eating disorders. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Assessment Counselor to join our Havertown team. This role is ideal for a clinically skilled professional looking for flexible evening and weekend hours while making a meaningful impact. Summary The Assessment Counselor plays a critical role in the admissions process by completing level-of-care assessments, engaging clients, and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure appropriate placement and a smooth intake experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Introduce and explain the Level of Care Assessment (LOCA) process to clients. Collect demographic and psychosocial history relevant to the assessment process. Explain and obtain signatures for Releases of Information (ROI) and other admission documentation. Coordinate with a Licensed Counselor for completion of the clinical portion of the assessment. Gather required information and complete precertifications for managed care clients, as applicable. Determine appropriate level of care and placement based on assessment findings. Collaborate with therapists, admissions, and marketing teams to support scheduling and care coordination. Participate in case consultations and interdisciplinary team meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education, Licensure & Experience Master's degree from an accredited institution in a recognized clinical discipline, including completion of a clinical practicum. Prior clinical experience in mental health treatment required. Skills & Abilities Strong clinical knowledge of mental health, substance use, and/or eating disorder treatment. Working knowledge of HIPAA, licensing standards, and CARF regulations. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and professionalism. Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or crisis situations. Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach.
