Carnegie Mellon University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center is searching for a "Consulting Therapist & Case Manager" position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a diverse and dynamic work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support via assigned daytime crisis shifts, scheduled consultation appointments, and ongoing case management services to students of our diverse student population. You will also assist in the development and supervision of practicum and internship trainees. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.
Core responsibilities will include:
Provides initial consultation/assessment, clinical case management, and crisis/triage services to students (on occasion, provides brief therapy & solution-focused sessions as demand or time of semester indicates) Provides professional consultation to university staff, faculty & parents as appropriate to support mental health needs of students. Collaborates with university partners for complete support of students. Assists in supervision & development of graduate practicum & internship students. Attends regular staff meetings, psychiatric rounds and other meetings as deemed necessary. Develops and carries out outreach programs such as resident assistant training, first-year orientation, customized workshops or groups, etc. Maintains timely documentation of all contacts with clients. Provides services that are consistent with commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Participates in an on-call rotation as part of the clinical team. Other duties as assigned. You must demonstrate:
Proven ability in diagnosis and referral, crisis intervention, case management, teamwork, adaptability, capacity to maintain composure in high pressure situations, and effective communication skills with students from a wide variety of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. Master's Degree in counseling, social work, rehabilitation counseling, psychology or general counseling required; terminal degree in a related field preferred 3-5 years of Mental Health Care experience required Must be licensed or license-eligible in PA Requirements:
