Organization Overview:
Persad Center provides a diverse range of mental health, behavioral health, substance abuse support, education and family support services to LGBTQA+ individuals, families and people living with
HIV/AIDS.
Founded in 1972, Persad is the second oldest LGBTQ+ mental health organization of its kind in the U.S.
Scope of Work:
The Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Therapist is a principal provider of Drug and Alcohol treatment at Persad Center. It is the responsibility of the D&A Therapist to provide initial and ongoing assessment of eligible clients to determine the most effective and useful psychotherapeutic treatment. The primary tasks of the D&A Therapist are: assessing new clients; providing individual, couple and/or group therapy; maintaining adequate required documentation; maintaining accurate financial records; participating in supervision and providing educational programs as assigned; serving as the Facility Director and D&A Program Director for the Washington, PA Persad Center facility. The D&A Therapist is supervised by and responsible to the Clinical Director. This is an exempt, full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of a client's treatment from date of entry to date of discharge. Evaluate clients physical and mental behaviors. Develop appropriate treatment and recovery plans. Facilitate individual, group, couple, and/or family therapy sessions. Monitor clients over time to access treatment progress. Must be available to see clients at our Washington, Pa. office both in-person and via Telehealth. Collaborate with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and department of correction (as needed). Collaborate with other D&A therapists on site and Center-wide program implementation and state regulations. Identify and address behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery. Take crisis calls on the Persad after hours/weekend phone. Clinical Therapists will rotate the phone coverage on a weekly basis. Meet productivity expectation(s) set by the agency. Maintain any necessary PA licensing and DDAP trainings to allow practice in your field
Required Qualifications:
Graduate degree in social work/counseling from an accredited institution of higher learning (Including completion of a clinical internship) 2 years of counseling experience Appropriate FBI, PA Act 33/34 fingerprint clearances Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 2 years D&A supervisory experience (Required to meet DDAP director qualifications)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Credentialed Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) Documentation of completion of all necessary DDAP trainings

Pay:
$60,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
