Share your experience, strength, and hope while helping hospital patients suffering from a substance use disorder access immediate admission into various levels of Drug and Alcohol treatment. Compensation

Responsibilities:
Answers consult requests from hospital personnel and meets with opiate overdose survivors, patients presenting symptoms of opiate withdrawal, and patients identified with a presumptive substance use disorder (SUD). Utilizes Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques and discusses treatment and recovery options with each patient, providing support, encouragement, and hope. Conducts bed searches and secures admission into detoxification and/or residential treatment services for patients expressing a desire for help. Forwards all required admission criteria to treatment providers and secures placement and transportation for the patient. Enters timely and thorough documentation into EPIC and CPR-Web as appropriate. Adheres to all Reading Hospital rules, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, when using the EPIC database system. Understands that he/she may not access EPIC or review patient records except in the standard course of providing work-related services to that patient. Provides follow-up information to TASC and COCA as required. Provides substance abuse and treatment resource information, including information regarding Recovery Support Services, to patients and family members as requested. Maintains strict adherence to confidentiality requirements, HIPAA, and ethical standards during interactions with all clients, family members and significant others, attorneys, case workers, and referral sources. Attends all meetings, conferences, and trainings as they relate to job functions. Maintains and develops drug and alcohol professional knowledge by attending required trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. Maintains CRS certification. Represents TASC positively and professionally at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be able to work 3rd and 2nd shifts on the weekends and Holidays. Must be able to pass a UDS, a Criminal Background check, and a medical onboarding process. Must have 3 years of continuous sobriety from a drug addiction or alcoholism. CRS certification required. Computer and Microsoft Office skills are necessary. Knowledge of 12-step recovery programs such as AA or NA is required. About Company TASC is a licensed drug and alcohol intake and referral agency serving uninsured and Medicaid-funded individuals in Berks County through DDAP and COCA. It provides clinical assessments and coordinates funding and placement across all levels of care, including detox, outpatient, and residential treatment. TASC also operates Awaken, a mental health case management program for adults with serious mental illness, helping clients access medical, social, and educational services to support stability and independence. Awaken follows OMHSAS and CCBH standards and emphasizes person‑centered, recovery‑focused care. With over 60 staff, TASC assists thousands each year through assessment, linkage, advocacy, and support for those affected by substance use and mental health conditions.
