SummaryProvides counseling services to substance abusers and their families. Conducts and facilitates group therapy, evaluations, and referrals for appropriate treatment. Job DutiesMaintains a patient caseload and completes clinical documentation including progress notes; plans, updates, and discharge summaries and other clinical forms required by regulation within established timeframes. Provides individual, group, and family counseling services to patients and their families. Provides support and assistance to other Counseling Programs within the Center for Counseling Services. Participates in clinical supervision as defined by the program and reports on the progress of patients. Arranges for admission to ASAM Levels of Care. Conducts assessment of patients presenting for care at the program and completes required areas of assessment and other documentation. Completes all necessary forms, documentation, and clinical functions. Offers suggestions to improve workflow or procedures; assists in the development of new programs or groups for clients.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in chemical dependency psychology, social work, counseling or related field. 7 years Previous related experience. and 1 year Clinical experience in health and human services. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific criteria in caring for clients and applies appropriate clinical interventions and communication strategies. Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner. CADC

  • State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in chemical dependency psychology, social work, counseling or related field and CADC

  • State of Pennsylvania within 3 Years Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs.
Examples:
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
  • Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
