Our multidisciplinary team of professionals are passionate about physical and mental health and are committed to guiding our clients down the difficult path to wellness. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of addiction treatment and recovery processes, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role requires a commitment to patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate healing and recovery in a supportive environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients. Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to individuals and groups. Utilize case management skills to coordinate care and resources for clients. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of assessments, treatment plans and progress notes in compliance with ICD-10 coding and HIPAA standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and coping strategies. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Provide resources and support for family members to understand and assist in the recovery process. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction counseling. Requirements A masters degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. A valid Michigan counseling license (LMSW/LLMSW, LPC/LLPC, LMFT/LLMFT or similar). MCBAP certification (CADC, CAADC, CCS) or willingness to implement and execute a MCBAP Development Plan Ability to pass a background check. Proficiency in clinical documentation and familiarity with ICD-10 coding is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to addiction treatment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. A genuine passion for helping individuals achieve recovery from addiction. This position is a contract hired position - it will include being paid per encounter with documented notes.
