JOB SUMMARY
The Counseling Center Clinician provides counseling services to Simmons undergraduate students, including triage, urgent-care, and short and long-term counseling. The Clinician also supervises Counseling Center trainees, co-facilitates the Intern Training program, and coordinates the Center's outreach and wellness programming.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide counseling to Simmons University undergraduate students, including triage, urgent care, and shorter and longer-term counseling. Supervise Counseling Center trainees individually and/or in a small consultation group and complete evaluations as requested by their graduate programs Co-facilitate the intern training program Coordinate outreach and wellness programming Participate in weekly staff and training-related meetings Maintain confidentiality Maintain legal clinical documentation for clients and supervisees Follow the Code of Ethics for the Clinician's specific discipline Responsible for "opening" and "closing" the Center on in-office days (8:30 and 4:30) Attend occasional Simmons-wide events as needed (move-in, commencement, etc). Respond to occasional evening and weekend contact from the Director regarding important client or administrative matters.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned by the Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
MA in Counseling, MSW in Social Work, or PhD in Psychology; LMHC, LICSW, or Licensed Psychologist (or eligible for independent licensure before December 31, 2026); Two years post-mental health degree clinical experience with young adults;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LMHC, LICSW, or Licensed Psychologist with two years of experience post-independent licensure; Experience working in a college/university setting; Experience providing clinical supervision; Experience leading groups; Experience and/or interest in outreach/wellness programming;

W ORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: Hybrid eligibility (three days on campus, two days remote-if desired) Nine months 40 hours/week In-office Sitting with clients several hours/day in person or via telehealth Typing Occasional evening/weekend responsibilities (not more than 3-5x/year) Occasional evening/weekend contact with the director or other staff for urgent concerns

Targeted Hiring Range:
57,000k - 60,000k Annually. In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws effective October 29, 2025, Simmons University is committed to pay equity, transparency and clear communication throughout the hiring process. The hourly or annual salary range for this position is: S07$51,800.00 - $82,700.00 This is benefits eligible position. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, equity, and external market benchmarks that help guide compensation decisions.
