Duties Provide peer support to families experiencing behavioral health or mental health challenges, utilizing your personal experience to foster trust and encouragement Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and themselves Offer mentoring and motivational interviewing to empower families in setting goals and overcoming barriers Assist families in navigating behavioral health systems, including referrals to community resources and services Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized support plans that meet each family's unique needs Support addiction counseling efforts by sharing insights and strategies to promote recovery and wellness Requirements Certified as a Family Peer Support Specialist in Montana with valid certification documentation Lived experience as a family member or caregiver of someone with behavioral health or mental health concerns, demonstrating empathy and understanding Knowledge of behavioral health, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work principles, and crisis intervention techniques Strong skills in crisis management, motivational interviewing, and social support strategies Ability to operate EHR systems efficiently for documentation and communication purposes Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and foster trust with diverse populations Flexibility to respond effectively during emergency situations while maintaining professionalism This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference through energetic engagement, transparent communication, and dedicated support.
