Job Description

Company Overview The PranaMind Center (PMC) is a state-of-the-art outpatient mental health treatment center that merges neurofeedback and psychotherapy modalities (). We serve clients ranging in age from 5 to 85 years for conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, poor sleep, post-concussion syndrome, and peak performance. Key areas of responsibility will include interacting with clients in a kind, uplifting and professional manner; providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families and maintaining administrative records, in a team-based work environment. The Position PMC is looking for a highly motivated and qualified bilingual therapist fluent in English and Spanish to provide psychological services (supervision provided if required); conducts evaluations and assessments; ongoing counseling, treatment and intervention; conducts individual, group and family psychotherapy; provides consultation to other programs and agencies on treatment needs and behavioral plans; work as part of a therapeutic team and perform other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, compassionate, and open to learning. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director and Assistant Clinical Director. Duties Conducts intakes and interviews with clients and family members. Develops initial and ongoing treatment plans on assigned clients; prepares and maintains psychosocial case histories for use in diagnostic evaluations and monitoring client progress. Conducts individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions; provides education on behavioral health care symptoms. Provides crisis intervention as needed; stabilizes clients in crisis including brief intervention in clinic; arranges for hospitalization and coordinates treatment elements. Maintains all records in accordance with the Quality Assurance standards of Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services, California Board of Behavioral Sciences or California Board of Psychology and HIPAA regulations. Participate in clinical case presentations, staff development workshops and peer reviews. Prepares reports, case summaries, correspondence and other written materials. Testifies in court when required regarding outpatient court-ordered treatment.

Be registered by an applicable licensing authority, i.e., Social Work, MFT, Clinical Psychologist, Professional Clinical Counselor. Possess a sufficient level of professional knowledge, skill and experience providing psychological services; and strive to keep up with developments and trends in the field of social, psychological and neurocognitive sciences. Maintain confidential records and private information Be an effective communicator who clearly conveys information and ideas verbally and in writing. Relate well to people with diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, abilities, motivations, or backgrounds. Uses technology for data entry and management, uses available resources to achieve mandatory organizational requirements. Work effectively on a multidisciplinary team, respect differences, and effectively manage conflict by building and maintaining constructive relationships that result in diverse work teams that better serve our diverse communities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Possession of a master's degree from a recognized college or university in social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical or professional counseling. License/Registration Must be registered by an applicable licensing authority in one of the following: Associate Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, Psychological Assistant/Associate, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. Special Requirements In compliance with the Administrative Simplification provision of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), employees in this classification are required to possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to their first day of employment In compliance with Medicare regulations, eligible licensed clinicians in this classification are required to complete the "Medicare Enrollment Process for Physicians and Non-Physician Practitioners" through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Approval for Medicare processing must be received from the CMS within 180 days of the date of hire. Active enrollment in Medicare is a condition of employment. In compliance with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the Federal Cures Act, Employees in this classification who are required to render direct specialty mental health services in the course of their assignment must successfully be enrolled in Provider Application and Validation for Enrollment (PAVE) web portal within 180 days of commencing employment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The most suitably qualified candidates will possess the following competencies: Current theories, practices, principles and practices for services to clients with serious behavioral health care symptoms and diagnoses. Psychological diagnostic methods and terminology. Wellness, recovery and resiliency-oriented strategies. Community needs, resources and organizations related to behavioral health care. Ethical standards of practice and licensure requirements, along with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Principles and practices of direct client service delivery. Principles of cultural and social needs, problems, attitudes and behavioral patterns. Office administrative practices and procedures, including data management and the operation of standard office equipment. Computer applications related to PMC employment.
