Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes and manage behavioral health emergencies effectively. Facilitate addiction counseling and behavioral health education, emphasizing relapse prevention and recovery skills. Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate recording of patient progress in medical records. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management, discharge planning, and community resource linkage to support holistic patient care. Utilize research-informed practices, ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), CPT coding, and data collection methods to monitor treatment outcomes and improve service quality. Requirements Valid licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor or equivalent certification in the state of Texas. Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, or behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and crisis management techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding systems, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards. Experience working in home & community care environments, hospitals, or crisis intervention settings is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and deliver compassionate care tailored to individual circumstances.
