Job Description
DO THE WORK YOU LOVE. WE'LL HANDLE THE REST.
Licensed Child & Family Therapist — LPCMH / LCSW / LMFT
Outpatient Mental Health Therapy Middletown, Delaware Full-Time W2 Outpatient Therapist Child Therapist Family Therapist Mental Health Counselor Play Therapy New Castle County, Delaware ✓ Premium compensation for evening & weekend hours ✓ 95%+ client show rate ✓ Caseload matched to your strengths ✓ Supervisor certification pathway ✓ No non-compete agreement ✓ New 10-office location opening this summer You worked hard to become a therapist. Your next step should help you grow — not burn you out. At Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy, you'll focus on the clinical work you trained to do while being supported by a team that handles the operational side of practice. Founded in 2017 by Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH, Resilient Kids was built on a simple belief: when therapists feel genuinely supported, clients receive better care. Today, we continue to grow because families trust us, referral partners know our reputation, and our clinicians stay. We're growing. With the opening of our second location in Downtown Middletown, we're expanding our clinical team to serve more children, adolescents, and families throughout New Castle County. Whether you're early in your career or bringing years of experience, you'll find a supportive team, consistent referrals, and opportunities to continue growing as a clinician. What Your Caseload Looks Like We want you to know exactly what you're walking into. Our therapists primarily work with:
Children, adolescents, young adults, and parents Anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and self-esteem concerns Family transitions, adoption, and co-parenting challenges Parents seeking support both for their children and for themselves Consistent weekly clients who want to be in treatment This is relationship-based outpatient therapy. The majority of families are motivated, engaged, and committed to the process. Our referral pipeline is strong and established. Most clinicians begin receiving referrals immediately and build toward a full caseload within approximately three weeks while being thoughtfully matched with clients who fit their strengths, interests, and clinical style. What You'll Never Have to Worry About Many therapists burn out because they spend too much time managing logistics instead of helping people. At Resilient Kids, we work hard to remove the barriers that pull clinicians away from the work they love. You won't be expected to market yourself, chase referrals, negotiate with insurance companies, manage uncomfortable billing conversations, or spend your evenings tracking down clients who haven't scheduled. Our client care team handles:
Insurance verification and billing Scheduling and appointment reminders Collections and administrative follow-up Referral coordination Client onboarding Attendance letters and re-engagement outreach Scheduling follow-up for missed appointments Helping clients maintain consistent appointment schedules Just as importantly, we intentionally match referrals based on clinical strengths and interests. If a referral isn't a good fit, we don't force the match. Our show rate exceeds 95%, and the majority of our clients are motivated, engaged, and committed to treatment. That means less time managing cancellations and scheduling issues — and more time doing meaningful clinical work. What You Will Earn Most clinicians earn between $63,000 and $76,000 annually depending on schedule, session volume, and evening availability, with opportunities to increase earnings through additional sessions. Our compensation model includes both clinical and non-clinical work because we believe therapists should be compensated for the work that supports great therapy — not just the time spent in session. You are compensated for:
Completed therapy sessions, including premium compensation for evening and weekend hours Documentation time Monthly case consultation with our Clinical Director Staff meetings and trainings Approved administrative and practice-support activities Most clinicians begin receiving referrals immediately and build toward a full caseload within approximately three weeks. A Career Path — Not Just a Job Many practices focus on filling your schedule. We focus on helping you grow. At Resilient Kids, professional development doesn't stop at licensure. Whether you're refining your clinical skills, developing a specialty area, expanding into leadership, or simply looking for a practice that values continued learning, you'll find opportunities to grow here. You will have access to:
Monthly paid case consultation with our Clinical Director, providing support with treatment planning, challenging cases, and ongoing professional development Ongoing consultation and clinical support Caseload development aligned with your interests and strengths Training in child, adolescent, and family therapy Play therapy and trauma-informed care development Leadership and professional growth opportunities Optional specialty development through nature-based, animal-assisted, and experiential approaches Opportunities for clinical leadership, supervision, and professional advancement For clinicians interested in supervision, we provide mentorship and support toward obtaining an external clinical supervision certification under the guidance of our Clinical Director. We believe great therapists never stop learning, and we are committed to supporting your growth wherever you are in your professional journey. Work That Fits Your Life You did not leave your last job to burn out somewhere new. This schedule was designed with that in mind. Because we primarily serve children and families, core hours run Monday-Friday from 2:00-5:00 PM, when clients are most available. Clinicians also choose either two weekday evenings (5:00-8:00 PM) or one weekend day (approximately six hours) each week. Beyond those core hours, you have flexibility in how you build the rest of your schedule. Want slow mornings while everyone else battles rush hour? Build it that way. Prefer to start earlier and finish earlier? That's an option too. A few things clinicians appreciate:
Most evenings you're done by 5:00 PM Evening and weekend hours are compensated at a higher rate One telehealth day per week is available if desired Daytime appointments build based on client demand More sessions here means more income — not more administrative burden We believe a sustainable career starts with a schedule that works for both clinicians and the families they serve. Optional Specialty Development Clinicians interested in expanding their clinical skills may have opportunities to explore experiential and nature-based approaches through our partnership with Buddy's Place, a local therapeutic farm program. Optional specialty experiences include:
Ecotherapy Nature-based therapy Horticultural therapy Equine-assisted therapy Canine-assisted therapy Therapeutic work with rabbits, chickens, and other small farm animals Benefits W2 employment Health insurance (50% employer-paid after 60 days) 80 hours Paid Time Off annually Delaware Paid Leave (HDFA) Delaware EARNS retirement savings program Workers' compensation coverage Unemployment protection Supervisor certification support and mentorship Who Thrives Here We're looking for clinicians who: Hold Delaware licensure as an LPCMH, LCSW, or LMFT Enjoy working with children, teens, families, and young adults Want to continue growing as clinicians Value collaboration and consultation Maintain organized documentation and professional communication Enjoy coordinating care with parents, schools, pediatricians, and other providers Are looking for a practice where they can build a long-term career Clinicians who value support, collaboration, professional growth, and high-quality child and family therapy are especially encouraged to apply. Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Our Hiring Process Step 1 — Apply Submit your resume and application through our careers page: resilientkidstherapy.com/careers Step 2 — Conversation with Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH This is a genuine conversation about your goals, our practice, and whether we're a strong mutual fit. You'll have the opportunity to learn more about our culture, referral process, professional development opportunities, and what it's like to work at Resilient Kids. Step 3 — Clinical Consultation Conversation You'll receive a brief case vignette in advance and meet with our Clinical Director to discuss your clinical thinking. This is not a test and there are no perfect answers. Instead, think of it as a consultation conversation. We want to learn how you approach treatment, conceptualize cases, and support clients. Just as importantly, you'll have the opportunity to experience our clinical culture firsthand, ask questions, and determine whether our approach to consultation, supervision, and professional development feels like the right fit for you. Many clinicians tell us this is their favorite part of the hiring process because it provides a realistic picture of the support, collaboration, and clinical discussions that occur within our practice. The best interviews are mutual. We're evaluating fit, and we encourage you to do the same. Step 4 — Decision If it feels like a strong fit for both sides, we'll discuss next steps, answer any remaining questions, and welcome you to the team. You chose this profession to help people.
