Job Description
Job Summary Join our diverse mental health team as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, where you will have flexibility in where and when you choose to provide your unique style of compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to clients who align with your clinical interests and experience. This contract based position offers an opportunity to deliver virtual psychotherapy in an outpatient setting. You will received 100% marketing, insurance credentialing and contracting, billing and administrative (phone call, email correspondence etc.) support to help build and maintain your caseload. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment strategies. Deliver individual and/or couples counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed counseling, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and more. Provide community resources to clients as needed. Update treatment plans every 3-4 months. Create safety plans with clients as needed. Enter, review and sign notes 72 hours after each session. All notes must be entered by 9pm every Friday Complete diagnostic assessment and enter diagnosis by the end of the second appointment; complete a treatment plan by the end of the second appointment. Provide specialized counseling for issues including addictive patterns, OCD tendencies, anxiety disorders, grief, PTSD, gender identity concerns, relationship challenges, autism spectrum disorders, and other day-to-day stressors and mental health disorders. Maintain accurate medical documentation and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans, case management activities, and research initiatives to improve clinical outcomes. Collaborate with each client's medication prescriber at least one every 4 months. Utilize telehealth platform (Theranest) effectively to expand access to mental health services for remote or underserved populations. Experience Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited program. Pending or active licensure or certification as a Graduate Professional Counselor or equivalent credential in Dc, MD or VA. Demonstrated experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), attachment-based therapy, couples counseling, EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, or behavioral therapy. Prior work in outpatient clinics or inpatient hospital settings (including internship) is highly desirable. Strong skills in crisis management, researching and providing referrals, individual and couples counseling, clinical documentation, collaboration with other care providers and and trauma-informed care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidential medical records within a healthcare environment.
