The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health management, with experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and adults. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through patient-centered care, utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis. The counselor will be responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual, group, and family counseling sessions while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding systems to determine patient needs. Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy tailored to individual client requirements. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management services to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma-related issues such as PTSD. Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on addiction counseling, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, or social skills development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that incorporate case management strategies and coordinate with external providers when necessary. Maintain detailed medical records and document patient progress in compliance with HIPAA standards using appropriate medical terminology and CPT coding for billing purposes. Engage in clinical research activities related to behavioral health interventions or mental health outcomes to support continuous improvement of services. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to mental health services while ensuring confidentiality and data security. Skills Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes. Excellent communication skills for conducting intake assessments, patient education, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Ability to work effectively with individuals facing complex issues such as bipolar disorder, PTSD, severe depression, neurocognitive issues, among others. Experience providing services via telehealth platforms while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Background in social work or clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in pediatrics or geriatrics is advantageous. Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions; competence in managing medical records securely.
