Job Description

Position Summary The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) is responsible for providing clinical assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and therapeutic services in accordance with CARF standards, DBHDS regulations (12VAC35), and DMAS/Medicaid requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis Conduct comprehensive assessments Establish DSM diagnoses Determine medical necessity 2. Treatment Planning Develop and update ISPs Ensure goals are measurable and clinically appropriate Align services with assessed needs 3. Service Delivery Provide therapy and/or clinical interventions Ensure services meet Medicaid definitions Maintain appropriate service frequency 4. Documentation Complete notes within required timelines Ensure documentation supports medical necessity Maintain accurate clinical records 5. Supervision Provide supervision to QMHPs or residents Ensure supervision meets regulatory standards 6. Risk & Incident Workforce Support
  • Collaborate with Risk Management on staff-related incidents.
  • Ensure incident follow-up includes HR review when applicable.
  • Track staff injury reports and worker's compensation documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • Active license or license-eligible status in Virginia
Knowledge of:
o 12VAC35 licensing standards o DMAS/Medicaid clinical documentation requirements o CARF standards
